WELCOME

This is my blog (now there is a surprise!). I will be sticking in it poetry, prose, random musings, things that take my fancy and more than likely lots of pictures of cats. I hope you find something to amuse and/or interest you here.

Inspiring People..

Inspiring people stand out clear
In disasters floodlight arc
But the candles in the dark
Are the ones I hold most dear.
The carers who every day
Reach out to those in need
To silent cries pay heed
And help as best they may.
For they are the ones whose daily lot
Is to be relied on, yet their aid
Is seldom noticed, soon forgot
Their kindness rarely is repaid.

The ones who find a thing that’s lost
And return it where it should be
Who its true value see
Not the monitory cost.
The one who do an old mans shopping
Or stop and hold that door,
Give a hand on a rough floor,
Don’t pass by without stopping.
Candles may not shine out bright
With a spotlights blinding glare
But lost and cold in the dark night
We are glad to find them there.

I wrote this a while ago and dug it out for Jingle Poetry as they are talking about Idols, Role Models and Jingles.  I hope it is okay.

I will also cheat and add this one that I wrote yeasterday in response to my friend JL's prompt:

Softly
Time trickles past
We can not stop the flow
Nor make a precious moment last
But savour every moment, make it slow
Dip your glass of time’s sea so vast
The sun-kissed seconds glow
Make sadness fast
Hold love
Softly
