NaPoWriMo2018 Day 5

My Challenge was rain...and of course today is bright and sunny so I picked this picture from
https://www.thewallpapers.org/desktop/45017/rain-over-the-island-wallpaper for the inspiration.  
The http://www.napowrimo.net/ day 5 prompt left me confused to I am not doing that today.  Instead I am abandoning set forms and going with the flow, it seem appropriate for rain!

It looks as though the clouds

 are throwing nets

onto the land below

Are the Angels fishing

for men's souls?

Winnowing by tempest?

Or is Water romancing?

courting gently,

 fingers brushing Earth

While jealous drives Air

into a frenzy

pushing Water to ground

And high above the clouds

Fire looks on

breaking through in laughter

Shame

Oh shame, yes shame is like the seaweed cling
That’s tangling round my soul with slimy clasp.
My being tarnished by its clammy grasp,
It twines around each hour and each thing.

I’m swimming in the great Sargasso sea,
Those macro-algae choke in tangled mass
My heart is dragged into a dank morass
Of mucid, blistered ropes that lasso me.

Some days I feel as though I have escaped;
For minutes I feel free of oozy strands
‘Til memories rain down and damps those frayed
And desiccated, dormant fucoid bands
Which swell to bloated fullness and I’m weighed
Once more by clinging, cloying, ghostly hands.

Never done one before, probably still haven't (you can be the judge of that) and probably never will again.  But, hey, nothing ventured......

Slinging our hooks

Chain hooking

Hey good lookin', what you got hookin'?

Starting the Day

Switch off alarm

Crawl out of bed

Stumble down the stairs

Start coffee machine

(Oh that lovely caffeine!)

Stagger upstairs and shower

Dry body and hair

Dress and make-up

Back down for that first cup of coffee

(Oh that lovely caffeine!)

Upstairs to wake child

Bathe and dress the sulky school-day monster

Downstairs for breakfast

Fix cereals and coffee

(Oh that lovely caffeine!)

Cut sandwiches and not fingers

Fix lunch and treats for two

Scold tantrum and dry tears

Pour milk and more coffee

(Oh that lovely caffeine!)

Answer phone

Change plans and clothes

Phone boss

Grab now happy child and sled

(Oh that lovely snow day!)
